History & Heritage

S36, named to signify Latitude 36 South which runs between Canberra and Hamilton, evolved from Metal Tech Engineering with an extensive history dating back to 1960.

Early Years

  • 1960s: Manufactured close tolerance Fuel Injection Components and Aerospace components

  • 1970s: Supplied 144 undercarriage assemblies to GAF Australia Nomad N-24 aircraft

  • 1980s: Produced turbine assembly tooling for RNZAF Rolls Royce jet engines

Recent Achievements

  • 2016: Commenced manufacture for Space programs

  • 2017: Started manufacturing for Space Systems

  • 2024: Established S36 to expand operations to Australia
